Indian Water was the brain child of Big Chief Gerald Page and Mike (Bass) Bailey. We had a sit-down some years ago about how can we preserve the music of New Orleans and it’s culture. I also wanted to pay homage and honor elders such as: George Porter Jr., Cyril Neville, Benny Jones, and others that I have a great deal of respect for. After seeing a shift in our city and culture, I began to get upset with how our culture and local musicians were being mistreated and left out.
So I decided to take action and (Indian Water) was born. The title (Indian Water) means: food for the mind, body, and soul.
